FAQs

Introducing SCULPTRA, a cutting-edge injectable treatment designed to rejuvenate and enhance your skin. SCULPTRA is a safe, sterile product composed of tiny particles of a synthetic polymer named "poly-L-lactic acid" (PLLA), combined with carboxymethylcellulose (USP), non-pyrogenic mannitol (USP) and sterile water for injection (USP). All these ingredients are biocompatible and biodegradable, meaning they work in harmony with your body and naturally break down over time.

While we're still studying how long SCULPTRA's effects last in humans, studies with rabbits have shown visible results even after one year post-injection. Imagine what this powerful, long-lasting formula could do for your skin!

With SCULPTRA, you're not just investing in a treatment, you're investing in a proven method for skin rejuvenation that works with your body's natural processes.

As we age or spend time in the sun, our body's collagen production naturally slows down. This can lead to wrinkles, one of the earliest signs of aging. SCULPTRA is designed to combat this. It's injected deep into your skin where collagen is naturally produced.

Here's how it works: SCULPTRA starts by filling the wrinkles with tiny PLLA beads. As these beads gradually break down, your body may start to produce new collagen in those areas, helping to rejuvenate your skin from within.

SCULPTRA is gently injected with several small shots using a fine needle. It's designed to correct the contour deficiencies of nasolabial folds (the lines running from the sides of your nose to the corners of your mouth), other facial wrinkles, and even fine lines and wrinkles in your cheek area. Give your skin the boost it needs with SCULPTRA.

Some side effects can include: swelling, redness, pain/tenderness, or bruising. Most patients said these side effects were mild to moderate and disappeared within 1-2 weeks.

During your first SCULPTRA session, the focus will be on subtly addressing the areas of concern - we won't aim to fully or over-correct any lines or wrinkles right away. Right after your treatment, you might notice an immediate change due to swelling from the injection and the water used to dilute SCULPTRA. This initial change usually lasts only a few hours to a few days, after which your skin may return to how it looked prior to the treatment.

Don't worry, this is all part of the process! True, lasting results take a bit of time to appear as SCULPTRA works its magic beneath the skin. Your healthcare professional will schedule a follow-up visit around three weeks later to assess your progress and determine if additional injections are necessary.

No! Your face will never get worse if you stop using Botox injections or when it wears off. Botox injections stops/slows” the clock of aging. When you stop getting injections, The “aging clock” resumes like normal. At the very minimum, you will simply return to where you started. If you use botox injections for a number of years and then stop – your muscles learn to relax and therefore you will end up looking a little better than when you originally started.

At Body Bar, we recommend a follow-up visit around three to four weeks after each SCULPTRA session. This allows our skincare professionals to evaluate your progress and determine if more treatments are necessary. Generally, you may require between one to four sessions (most often three) to achieve the best possible results. Please note, the safety and effectiveness of SCULPTRA have been studied using a regimen of up to four sessions, spaced at three to four-week intervals.

According to a U.S. clinical study, some clients saw the benefits of their treatment for as long as 25 months after their final session. However, the degree of improvement does depend on how pronounced your skin concerns were before you started the treatment. We recommend having a conversation with your skincare specialist to understand the best possible results you can expect from your personal treatment plan.
